Developmental Rules
Please remember that we will not focus on winning and losing. We are developing these young players. This should be fun for everyone involved. Coaches, parents and referees need to work together to make that happen. Coaching should be done by the coach only and not the parents. Parents are expected to make positive comments only. No smoking at the fields and no dogs on the sidelines. Disruptive behavior by a coach, parent or spectator will not be tolerated.

- Rules of play will conform to USSF Laws of the Game except as modified below.
- Six field players plus a goalie.
- No off side unless it is blatant (player cannot park next to keeper).
- No penalty on incorrect throw in. Player allowed to re-throw after given direction.
- No slide tackling.
- No penalty kicks. All free kicks will be indirect kicks except corner kicks and kick-offs. Defending team required to be six yards from the ball on all kicks.
- Shin guards and cleats will be checked by referee prior to game time. No player will be allowed to play without shin guards. No jewelry is allowed including soft bracelets, necklaces, rings, metal hair clips and ear rings. Medical Alert and religious items may be worn if they are taped to the body and are not dangerous to any player (including the person wearing it).
- Unlimited substitutions allowed on goal kicks, after a goal, all throw-ins regardless of possession, or injured player.
- Game time will be 4-12 minutes quarters. 2 minute rest between 1 and 2, 5 minute half, and 2 minutes between 3 and 4. Switch sides at half.
Coaches are responsible for “enforcing” the following:
- Run Away Game Policy: if a team is ahead by 4 goals the following steps should be taken in this order and if you continue to score then you will keep following the order below:
- Move 1 forward off of front line
- Dominate players should be put on defense so they do not score
- Remove 1 player from field and play down
- All players will get equal playing time. They should all play at least 2 quarters of the game.
- Home team will sit on the south side of field and wear cardinal jersey. Away team will sit on north side of field and wear silver. Shin guards and cleats will be checked by referee prior to game time. No player will be allowed to play without shin guards. No jewelry is allowed including soft bracelets, necklaces, rings, metal hair clips.
- Verbal abuse of the referee or a player will result in automatic release from the Pros Soccer Club. All calls made by the referee are final.
