What is The Pros Soccer Club?
The Pros Soccer Club is a brand new nonprofit soccer club with solid financial resources, a stable business model, and supported by professional coaches, trainers and educators dedicated to providing first-rate soccer and educational services to youth under the age of 19 years.
Is The Pros Soccer Club taking over Tempe Soccer Club?
No. The Pros Soccer Club is a NEW nonprofit organization. It is not replacing Tempe Soccer Club. The Pros Soccer Club is destined to be one of the top clubs in the valley.
What's going to distinguish The Pros Soccer Club?
The Pros Soccer will also actively promote the importance of education and soccer(see The Pros Highlights for additional "extras").
What kinds of Educational emphasis will there be?
Example: to provide teenagers with the tools to make the transition from High School to College including SAT, ACT, and AIMS preparation. Additional emphasis and recognition of school achievements at the team level as well. The Pros Soccer Club is based on the belief that you can't have soccer without education. We believe that Education is the fabric of our society.
Who will be the coaches and trainers at The Pros?
Are there new coaches and trainers from outside the Phoenix area too?
Recruiting for coaches has been conducted on the east and west coasts. Based on those efforts and discussions, The Pros expects that coaches from outside the Phoenix area with significant playing and coaching experience will be joining the Club.
Will we get to use the same fields?
The city of Tempe will let The Pros Soccer Club have access to fields.cfm
What will the uniforms be like?
The uniform will be the Nike Centario. The Club's colors are cardinal, black, white and silver. The cardinal jersey has a white stripe and the white jersey has a cardinal stripe. Black shorts, black socks, Practice shirt, pre-game shirt, warm-ups and a backpack for soccer gear. Options for a third uniform.
Is there a new logo too?
Yes, a soccer ball with The Pros in cardinal written across it. The word Soccer underneath and the slogan "Where Education and Soccer Meet" (See above)
What about a website?
You may visit The Pros website at www.prossoccer.org . It has been carefully designed for its ease of use and thoroughness of information. Be patient at first, it is a work in progress! It will be up and running smoothly very shortly.
Will there be a clubhouse? If so, will it be the same one?
Yes there will eventually be a clubhouse. The Pros is still looking for the right place. Finding a clubhouse is a priority.
How many teams is The Pros Soccer Club going to have per age group?
We can have up to 4 teams in an age group. Names in order from most competitive to least.: Pros White, Pros Black, Pros Cardinal, Pros Silver.
How will all those teams be handled?
There will be a head coach for each age in addition to each individual team having its own coach. Again unity is another aspect The Pros Soccer is stressing from the team level on up. Teams do not win championships anymore clubs do.
What are the costs going to be?
It varies by age (see the Player Information Handout for more details at tryouts).
Will there be a Thanksgiving tournament?
Yes.
Will there be scholarships available?
The Pros Soccer is a nonprofit organization that intends to seek grants and donations from outside sources to support financially challenged families who wish to be a part of the The Pros Soccer Club program.
Who will run The Pros Soccer Club?
The Pros Soccer will have a board just like every nonprofit organization. In its start-up phase key positions will be appointed but will eventually be voted in by its membership. Many advisory positions will need to be filled by PROS volunteers as well.
How can I get involved in The Pros Soccer Club?
The Pros Soccer feels one of its greatest asset is YOU! We intend to match the needs with the willing hands and expertise of its members. A special volunteer section will be added to the website to help in accomplishing this.
What is in the future for The Pros Soccer Club?
The Pros Soccer will strive to be the premier elite soccer club in the East Valley reaching beyond Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek etc. Its desire to put education first and to provide a college soccer program with all the elements second to none allowing players to be successful at all components of life. Our solid financial backing will see The Pros Soccer Club achieve its goals.
