We are off to a great start for our
Developmental Program. We have 8 teams playing on Saturdays with players
ranging from 4-10 yrs old. Our professional staff and players from the 89
Boys White and Black team have been out working with the teams during the
week at practice. Our wonderful volunteer coaches have been pulling it
all together on the weekends and we have had some fun and exciting games.
I would like to thank the Mini-Pros (ages 4-6) coaching staff, Marc, Joe,
Cameron, and Chris for some great 3v3 games and the Jr-Pros (ages 7-10)
coaching staff, Tim, Roger, Kevin and Alisa for some very well organized
7v7 games.
A special thanks to all the parents for their continued support of our
program. Pictures will be taken on October 21st and we will have an end
of the Fall season breakfast on Nov 3rd after our games are done.
Registration for the Winter Season will begin soon.

Pros Golf Tournament & Fabulous Friday
|
|

|
|

Thanks to everyone who participated in
the recent Pros Golf Tournament and “Fabulous Friday” both of
which were a great success.
The first ever Pros Golf Tournament took place on Friday 15th September
and will undoubtedly become a permanent feature on the Pros calendar. We
had a good showing on the day and even had a few Pros players try their
luck on ASU's Karsten course. The victorious team were Coach Joash, Coach
Neil, Jock Eddington and Mike Beregar who shot an impressive 59 on the
par 72 course. Given the recent Ryder Cup result there is no doubt the
winning team were helped by the fact they had 2 Europeans on board!
Thanks to all who played and all who volunteered to help make it happen.
We hope to see you again next year. Particular thanks to Cindy & Bill
Burkhart as well as Juan Galan for their efforts in organizing the golf
tournament from start to finish.
Fabulous Friday produced a fantastic turnout of Pros players, teams &
parents of all ages who all contributed greatly to an important
fundraising event for the club. Particular thanks should go to Mary Baker
who worked tirelessly to pull off Fabulous Friday and make it all happen.
The highlights of the evening were undoubtedly the giant human foosball
contraption as well as the eagerly awaited parent versus players games
which saw some fiercely competitive parents realize that the
“beautiful game” is not quite as easy as it looks from the
sidelines!

Congratulations Carrie!
|
|
|
|
Everyone at the Pros Soccer Club would
like to congratulate Carrie Whigham who has been selected to go to
Florida with the National ODP squad.
Carrie - who plays for the 92 Pros Girls team - is 14 years old and
attends Desert Vista High School. Born and bred in Ahwatukee, Carrie has
been playing soccer since she was 6 years old and has been a Pros player
for the last 4 years. Orlando Cervantes (coach of the 92 Pros Girls) says
"Carrie is a very versatile player who is willing to do anything for
the team. She works hard and wants to get better. All of these things
considered mean Carrie is a pleasure to coach"
Carrie says Coach Joash has been a big influence on her soccer career so
far and has helped her prepare to play at the next level. Carrie has
hugely enjoyed the experience of playing ODP at both Regional and
National level and says it has made her even hungrier to achieve her
ambition of playing soccer for Notre Dame.
We wish you all the best in your travels with the National ODP program
Carrie and we are proud to say you are a Pro!
